How I Found Verefina

Posted by Katie Zapotoczny on 11th Mar 2016

I just want to say, for the record, that I love Verefina. I love the products, I love their integrity, and I love working with a company that is so dedicated to improving the health of its customers through the use of safe, natural ingredients. I have been working with Verefina for about 3½ years, and it has been truly wonderful for both me and my family.

I have striven to lead a healthy lifestyle for well over a decade now. Having been an athlete for most of my life, I realized in my 20s that I felt better and performed better when I stuck closely to a nutritious diet. I became intensely interested in nutrition and in natural skin care and eco-friendly cleaning products as well. When my husband and I moved to Colorado 10 years ago, I embraced healthy living even further, getting certified in nutrition and working in a local health food store.

As an employee at the health food store, I read a lot of labels. At first, it was mainly the labels on vitamins and supplements, as I worked in the supplements department. But over time, I began to pay closer attention to the products in the body care section too. Up until that point, I just assumed that all of the products that the store carried would be safe and natural. A health food store wouldn’t sell products with synthetic toxins, would it? I started noticing, however, that many of the products contained ingredients such as parabens and “fragrance.” What were these ingredients doing in “natural” products, I wondered. By this time, I was pregnant with our first baby. I stopped buying certain brands and spent more time scouring labels, looking for products that were safe me and my family. I realized that there were very few products that met my standards!

A couple of years later, I had stopped working at the health food store and was home full time with my kids. I was chatting with a friend one day who shares my passion for a healthy lifestyle. We were talking about the difficulty of finding truly safe skin care products and lamenting the fact that, as I had discovered a few years earlier, even many “natural” products contain toxic ingredients. My friend told me that she had recently learned about a company, called Verefina, that made natural products that didn’t include the extra junk. Excited about the prospect of finally finding safe natural products for my family, I got online to take a look at the Verefina site. Browsing through some of the products, I clicked on the ingredient lists. I was thrilled to find that product after product contained safe, natural ingredients, and NO JUNK! All of the products contained 99 or 100% natural ingredients, and all of them ranked at a two or lower on the Environmental Working Group's Cosmetics Database. Here, I thought, are products that I could feel good about using on my children’s sensitive skin.

At that time, Verefina was a direct sales company, and there was an opportunity for me to sell the products as a consultant. I don’t generally jump right into things; often I go back and forth, weighing the pros and cons. But something about working with Verefina just felt right. I signed up as a consultant and have been sharing Verefina products ever since.

The company has changed since the day I signed up; Verefina is no longer a direct sales company. And I myself work with Verefina in different ways. I have been blessed to write regular blog posts for the past year, and I manage the social media accounts now too. I am still extremely proud to be associated with Verefina. In an industry filled with companies that take shortcuts and exploit lax regulations by using cheap, toxic ingredients, Verefina stands out for its integrity and dedication to the health of its customers. I am truly thankful to work with a company that puts good health first.
